Voting Information

Any U.S. Citizen who is 18 years or older, and is a resident of Trumbull, is eligible to register to vote. The next general election is November 5, 2024.

You may also be able to cast an absentee ballot by mail, depending on your circumstances.

Wonder if you can vote absentee? Yes, you can – if you can answer yes to one of these questions:
Connecticut has strict laws regarding who can vote absentee.
Are you an active member of the armed forces of the United States?
Will you be out of town on Election Day?
Does sickness prevent you from voting in person on Election Day?
Do your religious beliefs prevent you from performing secular activities like voting on Election Day?
Will you be performing duties as an election official at a polling place other than your own on Election Day?
Does a physical disability prevent you from voting in person on election day?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you are eligible to vote absentee.

Step 1: Fill out an Application for Absentee Ballot online at the CT Secretary of State’s website or go to the Town Clerk’s Office (5866 Main St., 1st Floor, Trumbull) and obtain one.
Step 2: Return the filled-out application to the Trumbull Town Clerk’s office as soon as possible. Upon returning the application, the Town Clerk’s Office may ONLY give you YOUR OWN ballot. If you hand in an application on behalf of someone else, the Town Clerk’s Office will then mail the Absentee Ballot to the applicant directly.

Trumbull has SEVEN voting districts, which have been redrawn in 2022 to be in compliance with the U.S. Census. Please take note of the new district lines.
Residents can find their polling location using the State of Connecticut's Voter Registration Look-up database.
Alternatively, voters can find their residence on the Voting District Map (PDF) of Voting District by Street List (PDF) and use the district number to identify their voting location on the polling places listed.
