Coffee and Conversation on Climate, Women's Rights, and Transformative Education

  • Bijou Theatre 277 Fairfield Avenue Bridgeport, CT, 06604 United States (map)

Come have breakfast and listen to Melissa Berton, Academy Award Winning Director of the documentary "Period. End of Sentence," discuss the importance to women's health of having access to sanitary pads (especially given the current derision of Governor Walz as "Tampon Tim"). Hugo Slim, formerly Head of Policy at the International Red Cross, will discuss his new book "Humanitarianism 2.0," which argues that aid organizations must be proactive in anticipating the climate-change fueled climate disasters in the future, and Cheyney Ryan will discuss the transformative impact of human rights education. Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox will moderate, with comments from Senator Richard Blumenthal. The event is free.
