Scott Wich, Board of Education
A Trumbull resident for 19 years, I’m married to my wife, Sonya, and proud father of two Trumbull High School graduates, Matthew and William. I’m a partner at one of the nation’s oldest labor and employment law firms, recognized by Forbes as one of America’s top corporate law firms. Currently serving on the Board of Education, I also volunteer as a Board Member, Regional Referee Administrator, and former coach with Trumbull AYSO. The critical thinking skills I’ve honed over decades as a lawyer help me bring fresh perspectives, challenge assumptions, and ensure our schools make sound, strategic decisions for the future.

I am excited to contribute to such an important task — the education of our children. My two sons had wonderful teachers, activities and opportunities through our school system and I am committed to pay it forward to help our young residents and their families have a similar experience.

1. Opportunity. My primary goal is to ensure that each student has the best opportunities possible to learn, grow and be well positioned to thrive after graduation. Every child deserves that chance and it is our responsibility to provide it. To borrow from the words of a proverb, “a child without education is like a bird without wings.”
2. Efficiency. Maximizing the value of every dollar entrusted to the Board of Education is essential to support those opportunities.
3. Transparency. Taxpayers and parents must have an ability to easily understand how the school system works for us.

The people. Whether it be at a park, on the street, in a grocery store or somewhere else in town, my face-to-face experience has been that we are generally a very friendly community with common concerns about local issues.
Fun Facts
What’s a fun fact about you? I was a trumpet player in the University of Notre Dame Marching Band. Running out of the tunnel at home football games into a stadium with tens of thousands of screaming fans is an experience I will never forget!
What's your favorite place in Trumbull? Kaechele Field on a Saturday during soccer season. Hundreds of kids playing together while their families cheer them on is just one example of why I enjoy living here.
