Nathan Tinker, Board of Finance
In my day job, I serve as CEO of the Connecticut Pharmacists Association, but my greatest roles are being a husband, father of three, writer, and educator. Some of my favorite moments in Trumbull have been the countless hours spent supporting the Middlebrook Fathers Club and other community organizations. Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, I have a deep love of nature and enjoy fishing, sailing, and hiking here in Southern Connecticut. With more than 25 years in nonprofit and small-business leadership, public policy, and fiscal management, I bring extensive experience in budgeting, strategic planning, government relations, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement—skills that directly support responsible oversight on the Trumbull Board of Finance.

I’m running for Board of Finance because I care about where our money goes—into strong schools, smart services, and a sustainable future. As a parent and professional, I will continue to bring thoughtful common sense and transparency to the decisions that shape our town and support smart, strong growth.
-
If elected, I will focus on responsible, transparent budgeting that 1) supports our strong public schools, 2) keeps our neighborhoods safe, and 3) promotes smart investments in people and infrastructure—without overburdening taxpayers. Likewise, I will advocate for long-term financial stability and investment as well as responsible community input in fiscal decision-making.

My community and volunteer involvement includes theTrumbull PTA and Fathers Club; Chair, Connecticut Pharmacists Association Government Relations Committee; Executive Committee, National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations; Adjunct Professor of Population Health and Leadership, University of New Haven; Adjunct Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, UConn School of Pharmacy; Nominations Committee, APhA.

Trumbull is a wonderful place to bring up a family: the green spaces (including my backyard); the schools; the sense of community; and even the accessibility to other great towns like New York and Boston.
Fun Facts
What’s a fun fact about you? I ran the New York City Marathon and visited the Arctic (though not simultaneously).
What's your favorite place in Trumbull? My favorite place in town is the cross country course—and its connected trails—behind Trumbull High School. It’s a great spot to run and enjoy the beauty of nature.
