Mary Isaac, Town Council, District 1
My husband and I have called Trumbull home for 34 years, raising our three children here and watching them thrive thanks to our excellent schools and supportive community. A former project manager turned dedicated stay-at-home mom, I’ve always had a passion for volunteering and giving back. Over the years, I’ve served on the Town Council and its Finance Committee for six years, as well as on the Senior Commission and multiple PTAs. These experiences have given me a comprehensive understanding of town government and the needs of our youth, families, seniors, and municipal departments. I’m committed to using that knowledge to continue serving and strengthening our community.

I’m a volunteer at heart. While my kids were in school, I was very involved with the PTA (president DFS/HMS/THS). When they graduated, I moved to the town side-Senior Commission and then Town Council. With 6 years serving on Council, I am prepared and committed to continue to make the town a great place to live, advocating for strong services coupled with low taxes.

I want to maintain our strong school system, support our police and first responders, maintain our beautiful park system and strengthen our infrastructure, particularly our roads, schools and much needed senior/community center – while keeping taxes moderate and predictable. This requires making hard choices and prioritizing the most needed projects and those that benefit the most residents. I also want to continue to increase programs that provide multiple opportunities for our community to gather and engage.

We are a wonderful town. A stellar school system, beautiful parks, the most open space/capita in the state, wonderful restaurants, family activities including Trumbull Day, summer concerts, the Arts Festival, community theatre, youth and adult sporting activities, community pools, walking & hiking trails, a few sled riding hills. We kind of have it all!
Fun Facts
What’s a fun fact about you? I have a bit of an obsessive personality—I can’t stop at just one potato chip, I can’t resist one more pull on the slot machine, and I can’t help but read the minutes or monitor virtually every town meeting. It’s a helpful obsession, especially during budget season!
What's your favorite place in Trumbull? It’s hard to name only one location. While I love my peaceful backyard overlooking Old Mine Park, I have to say Twin Brooks. I love walking with family and our 3 dogs in this beautiful spot.
