2025 Keys to Democracy
Reflecting on a Powerful Keys to Democracy Event
What a night! Our annual Keys to Democracy event was an incredible success, bringing together a room full of engaged community members, leaders, and advocates who believe in the power of civic engagement and protecting our democracy.
We were honored to welcome Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn as our keynote speaker. His powerful words reminded us that democracy is not self-sustaining—it requires vigilance, courage, and action from each of us. His firsthand experience defending the Capitol on January 6th was a sobering reminder of the threats our democracy faces and the responsibility we all share in safeguarding it.
This event was not just about reflection—it was about action. We celebrated the dedication of so many in our community who step up to do the work, whether by knocking doors, engaging voters, or standing up for truth and integrity in government. Congratulations to this year’s awardees: Nancy DiNardo, Patricia Borghesan, and Tyler Mack. Many thanks to our elected leaders who joined us: Senator Blumenthal, Congressman Himes, Lt. Gov Bysiewicz, Attorney General Tong, Comptroller Scanlon, State Senator Gadkar-Wilcox, State Representative Sarah Keitt, State Party Chair Roberto Alves, and State Party Vice Chair Jimmy Tickey. The conversations in the room made one thing clear: we are stronger when we come together.
A huge thank you to our sponsors and all who attended—your support fuels our efforts to protect democracy at every level, from local elections to national policy. Let’s keep the momentum going!
