Jerrod Ferrari, Town Council, District 7

I am the Director of Earned Media and Senior Account Manager at The Narrative Project, where I lead media strategy and public relations for mission-driven clients, securing national and regional coverage. A former journalist and managing editor with 20 years in newsrooms, I also teach communications as an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University and was honored as a 40 Under 40 recipient by The Business Council of Fairfield County. For decades, I’ve studied how local and state governments work—learning how to balance budgets, manage mill rates, and attract business. I’m known for taking the time to understand complex issues and explain them clearly, working across the aisle to build trusted relationships for advice, insight, and collaboration.

  • I understand how local government works—I’ve worked with it, in it, and covered it. I’m a progressive who believes real community growth comes through consensus. I want to help build a more connected, inclusive, and sustainable world for my children—starting right here in Trumbull.

  • Smart Growth & Housing Affordability:

Cutting taxes sounds great, but it’s not that simple. I want to support smart, balanced growth in Trumbull that aligns taxes with services and reduces the burden on middle- and lower-income residents. That includes expanding affordable and workforce housing so more families, young professionals, and seniors can live and thrive here.

    A More Walkable, Connected Trumbull:

Raised in Shelton, I’ve long admired Trumbull’s parks and schools. I want to build on that legacy by making our town more walkable and improving public transit access—connecting neighborhoods, green spaces, and local businesses. It’s about mobility, safety, and enhancing quality of life for everyone.

    Partnering Regionally for Efficiency:

Collaborating with neighboring towns on shared services—like dispatch centers or infrastructure—can reduce costs, improve efficiency, and expand access. Regional solutions are key to long-term sustainability.

    • Volunteer with Pancan and other cancer organizations

    • Special Olympics volunteer

    • Regular speaker at schools of all levels

    • Active volunteer in my children’s schools

    • Fairfield County “40 Under 40” honoree

  • My blended family settled in Trumbull nearly three years ago after searching across Fairfield County. We love the schools, the strong sense of community, and the easy access to parks and amenities. The Farmer’s Market and our local parks are family favorites—and we’re excited about Trumbull’s future potential.

Fun Facts

What’s a fun fact about you? I love working with my hands—what starts as a simple project often turns into a half-decent greenhouse or mudroom. I’m also a huge fan of movies, music, and podcasts. And while I love my bird-watching friends… my secret hobby is model trains—I just finished building a new table for my setup.

What's your favorite place in Trumbull? Trumbull Library—whether I’m working, reading, or wandering with my kids, it’s one of my favorite spots in town.
