Dean Fabrizio, Planning and Zoning

We have lived in Trumbull for more than 25 years, and raising our kids inspired us to get involved in the school community and become avid volunteers. I’m an engineer with over 35 years of experience, having worked on jets, rockets, and the space shuttle—but my true passion is helicopters. As an inventor, I enjoy tackling off-beat projects and finding creative solutions. My professional background includes planning large projects, developing budgets and schedules, and assessing and mitigating risks, all while navigating specifications, codes, and regulations—skills that translate directly to serving our community effectively.

  • I would like to serve on P&Z as an advocate for balanced growth in Trumbull. I’ve witnessed the town grow and wish to contribute to its measured development while maintaining Trumbull’s character and preserving our many open spaces.

    1. If elected to P&Z, I would bring a more focused awareness to parking requirements for new and changing businesses. Using a more conservative application of existing guidelines to improve accessibility and safety in town.

    2. I will promote continued smart development through the acquisition of land for municipal functions and avoid overdevelopment by private contractors.

    3. Support economic growth to increase Trumbull’s tax base while ensuring decisions are in line with the Town’s culture.

  • In our schools I was a Fathers’ Club President, PTA Co-President, Founding Chair for Senior Fly Thru and Post Prom Committees. In town I serve on the Board of Assessment Appeals and Comm Facilities Building Committee. I volunteer as an Aqua Culture STEM Mentor, Merit Badge Councilor and with ImpacTrumbull

  • I love the sense of community in Trumbull. Having lived in many different towns across the state and country I’ve found this town to have a remarkable focus and concern for its fellow Trumbullites.

Fun Facts

What’s a fun fact about you? At 12 year old a friend and I made a 40 foot noodle with hopes of entering the Guinness Book of Records. We were awarded the record and were published in the Bristol Press, but never got into the book.
