Caryn Kaufman, Town Council, District 4
A seasoned corporate communications leader, I bring decades of experience across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. My career highlights include work on the Olympic Games, World Cup, and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. A two-time entrepreneur with expertise in public affairs and operations, I also served as communications director for Connecticut’s largest city and trained at FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness. A professional pianist and active community volunteer, I’m ready to bring my skills and passion for service to my hometown.

In my family’s kitchen, there was a sign that said, “Democracy is not a spectator sport.” I’ve always been motivated by the idea of being the change you want to see in the world. I moved home two years ago to be closer to family, and I want to serve the community I was lucky enough to grow up in.

Finding a balance between maintaining the character of our town while offering a range of housing options for people of all ages is crucial to a thriving community. As a small business owner and someone who has worked on economic development projects, I want to bring my experience to help make the most of the tremendous potential our town has. As a longtime community volunteer, I will champion preserving and expanding the things that make Trumbull a wonderful place to live, work, and play.

Canoe Brook Lake is home to me. Swimming, fishing, boating, and skating were big parts of my childhood. As an adult, I appreciate the landscape, watching the seasons reflected in the water, and being surrounded by nature.
Fun Facts
What’s a fun fact about you? As a professional pianist, I play a lot of Elton John. My dream came true when I met Elton in 2004. Craziest part is that we were wearing the exact same outfit - so we look like twins in our photo together!
